Ring rolling produces seamless rings of different sizes through a hot-forming process. It is possible to perform ring rolling with the material at high temperatures. Rolling rings provide a flexible cross-sectional shape, improved grain structure, and minimal scrap when manufacturing seamless rings.

Heat treatment enhances the machinability and mechanical properties of metals or alloys by reducing internal stresses or improving their mechanical properties. Depending upon the temperature, time of heating, cooling and nature of the steps used, various heat treatment processes are used to enhance the properties of steel. However, the five basic processes of heat-treatment of steel are: Annealing, Normalizing, Hardening, Tempering and Case Hardening.
